Toast is creating technology to help restaurants and local businesses succeed in a digital world. The Hybrid Development Representative (HDR) role is the foundational entry point into our high-performing sales organization, designed to develop the next generation of Account Executives.

We invest in HDRs with the clear expectation that high performers will advance through our specialized sales program, Toast Sales Academy, and become future full-cycle Account Executives.

Qualifications

• Bilingual fluency in Mandarin and English (read, write, and speak).
• Long-term goal of becoming a full-cycle Account Executive.
• Self-discipline to achieve daily activity goals and recover from rejection.
• Growth mindset with proactive feedback and improvement.
• High self-accountability and ownership of performance metrics.
• Strong empathy and resilience when handling objections.
• Critical thinking to quickly process information and qualify prospects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication across calls and outreach.
• Excellent organizational skills to manage 100+ daily outreach activities.

Responsibilities

• Build and qualify opportunities to drive growth for our all-in-one platform.
• Execute high-volume outbound outreach and ensure high-quality engagements for Account Executives.
• Schedule meetings and hand off qualified prospects to the appropriate AE.
• Learn and adapt outreach methods with a path toward All-Bound SDR and AE roles.
