Job summary

National Youth Advocate Program (NYAP) is seeking a Case Manager for La Jornada to manage assessments, service plans and reunification packets for youth in care. The role requires bilingual (English/Spanish) capabilities, strong case management skills, and ability to work weekends or on-call as needed.

Responsibilities include intake interviews, coordination with sponsors and multidisciplinary teams, and documentation in UC Portal and Evolve.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field is required.
• 1 year of experience with children/adolescents preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required; strong communication skills.
• CPI and First Aid/CPR certifications required (or ability to obtain)

Responsibilities

• Perform all work in line with NYAP Mission, Values and Philosophies.
• Ensure case assessments are completed within ORR timeframes.
• Conduct intake interviews and gather sponsor information.
• Lead pre-staffing processes with a multidisciplinary team.
• Attend staffing and coordinate with federal field specialists and others.
• Coordinate with local pro bono attorneys for Know Your Rights presentations.
• Document actions and contacts in progress notes and UC Portal.
• Submit reunification packets and release requests for timely youth release.
• Provide weekly updates to youth and family members; maintain safety plans.
• Travel as needed for trainings and to transport youth within the U.S.
