Job summary

O'Reilly Auto Parts is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in sales, customer service, store appearance and operations in Texas. The role will lead a team during shifts, ensure staffing during peak hours, and drive customer satisfaction across retail and professional channels.

Qualifications

• Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification and RSS Certification
• Certified Parts Professional Certification; ASE Certification
• Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)

Responsibilities

• Lead the store team members in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
• Supervise the customer service levels on the retail showroom including team member execution on customer service programs (Related sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot).
• Work with the store manager to ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed during peak hours (lunch, late afternoons, evenings, weekends).
• Assist the store manager in setting team member goals, providing feedback, coaching/mentoring, and ensuring training is up to date.
• Assist in hiring by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling and participating in interviews, evaluating candidates, collaborating with management on selections.
• Ensure telephone is answered according to company policy.
• Ensure all buy online/ship to store, hub and store to store transfers, and DC add orders are processed timely and customers contacted on shipment arrivals.
• Utilize external purchase orders to ensure special orders and outside purchases are handled efficiently.
• Ensure returns and exchanges are processed efficiently with refunds issued using correct payment methods.
• Ensure all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, are invoiced before leaving the store.
• Communicate Zipline messages, and delegate Image Maker and merchandising tasks as assigned.
• Ensure team members comply with policies, adhere to work schedules, and clocks in/out correctly.
• Perform store opening/closing duties, including day end procedures, money deposits, and securing the building.
• Assist in maintaining the store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, hardware, in-store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles.
• All other duties as assigned.
