Job summary

O'Reilly Auto Parts is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in sales, customer service, store appearance and operations. This role will lead the store team during shifts and when the Store Manager is absent, ensuring high service levels for retail and professional customers.

Qualifications

• Required: Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification and RSS Certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead the store team to provide excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
• Supervise customer service levels in the retail showroom and ensure team execution of service programs (Related sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot).
• Work with the store manager to ensure the sales counter is adequately staffed during peak hours (lunch, late afternoons, evenings, weekends).
• Assist the store manager in setting team member goals, providing feedback, coaching, and ensuring training is up to date.
• Assist in hiring by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling interviews, and collaborating with management to select qualified team members.
• Answer telephones according to company policy.
• Ensure buy online/ship to store, hub, and store-to-store transfers and DC add orders are processed timely and customers are contacted on shipment arrivals.
• Utilize electronic outside purchase orders to handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently.
• Ensure returns and exchanges are processed efficiently, refunds issued correctly, and returned merchandise staged properly.
• Ensure all merchandise is invoiced before leaving the store, including core charges and warranties.
• Communicate Zipline messages and delegate Image Maker and merchandising tasks as assigned.
• Ensure team members adhere to posted schedules, obtain approvals for deviations, and clock in/out correctly.
• Perform store opening/closing duties, day-end procedures, and secure deposits and building.
• Assist in maintaining the store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, computer hardware, in-store service equipment, and delivery vehicles.
• All other duties as assigned.
