Job summary

O'Reilly Auto Parts seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager with sales, customer service, store appearance, and operations. This role will manage the store during the manager’s absence and lead the team in servicing customers.

Qualifications

• Requires Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification and RSS Certification.
• Desires Certified Parts Professional Certification and ASE Certification.
• Desires fluency in multiple languages, with Spanish highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Lead store team members in delivering excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
• Oversee customer service levels at the showroom and ensure program execution (Related sales, Hi5, Rock the Call).
• Help ensure the sales counter is staffed during peak hours (lunch, afternoons, evenings, weekends).
• Assist the store manager in setting goals, coaching, and ensuring training is up-to-date.
• Participate in recruiting tasks and interviewing to hire qualified team members.
• Answer the telephone according to policy and maintain professional communication.
• Process buy online/ship to store, hub and store transfers, and DC add orders promptly.
• Manage outside purchases and special orders to ensure efficient handling.
• Ensure returns are processed promptly and refunds issued correctly.
• Invoice all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, before leaving the store.
• Communicate Zipline messages and delegate merchandising tasks as assigned.
• Monitor schedule adherence and clock-in/out compliance among team members.
• Perform opening/closing duties, money handling, deposits, and security checks.
• Maintain store building, signage, lighting, computer hardware, and service equipment.
• All other duties as assigned.
