Job summary

O'Reilly Auto Parts is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in sales, customer service, store appearance and operations. This role will manage the store during the Store Manager’s absence and during opposing shifts, leading the team to deliver exceptional service to retail and professional customers.

Qualifications

• Sales specialist training and assistant manager certification required.
• RSS certification is preferred.
• Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).

Responsibilities

• Lead the store team in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
• Supervise customer service levels on the retail showroom and ensure program execution.
• Ensure staffing of the sales counter during peak hours (lunch, late afternoons, evenings, weekends).
• Assist the store manager in setting goals, coaching, and ensuring training completion.
• Assist in recruiting tasks, scheduling, interviews, and candidate evaluation.
• Process buy online/ship to store, hub and store to store transfers, and DC add orders promptly and contact customers on shipment arrivals as needed.
• Utilize electronic order ledger to handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently.
• Process retail returns and exchanges, issue refunds properly, and stage returned merchandise.
• Ensure all merchandise including core charges and warranties are invoiced before leaving the store.
• Communicate Zipline messages and delegate merchandising tasks as assigned.
• Ensure compliance with work schedules, approvals for deviations, and proper clock-in/out.
• Perform store opening/closing duties, day-end procedures, deposits, and security checks.
• Assist in maintaining store building, parking lot, signage/lighting, equipment, and delivery vehicles.
• All other duties as assigned.
