Job summary

Big Night Entertainment Group is seeking a Lighting Technician to support high-volume live events in Boston. You will load-in, set up and break down lighting equipment, operate lighting control boards, and assist with maintenance and programming to ensure top-notch shows.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year live event lighting experience.
• Experience in stage lighting, programming, and operation.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Understanding of electricity and power management.
• Superior interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
• Able to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Able to work in a loud environment with rapid lighting changes.
• Knowledge of professional Lighting Control systems (GrandMA, Obsidian Onyx, ETC, Artnet/sACN preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide lighting for high volume live events.
• Load-in, setup and breakdown lighting equipment as needed.
• Assist with lighting control board operation and programming.
• Assist with maintenance and repair of lighting equipment.
• Coordinate with visiting production crew to meet lighting requirements.
• Operate systems pertaining to audio, lighting, and video in the venue.
• Ensure care of all house and rental lighting & A/V equipment.
• Assist production manager with technical advance when required.
• Support special events operations as needed.

Brief Description

As a Lighting Technician, a typical day might include the following:

• Provide lighting for high volume live events
• Perform load-in, set-up and break-down lighting equipment for productions when necessary
• Assist with lighting control board operation & programming
• Assist with maintenance and repair of lighting equipment
• Interact with visiting production crew to ensure a successful show by using strong interpersonal skills and accommodating lighting requirements of artist/event
• Operate systems pertaining to audio, lighting, and/or video throughout the entire venue
• Ensure proper care and handling of all house and rental lighting & A/V equipment
• If necessary, assist the production manager with technical advance
• Assist with any special events operations in any of the previous mentioned capacity
• All other duties assigned

• Must possess superior interpersonal communication and organizational skills
• Must be able to lift up to 75lbs
• You are able to work in an environment with moderate to loud noise level and extreme lighting changes
• Knowledge and proficiency in professional Lighting Control (GrandMA, Obsidian Onyx, ETC, Artnet/sACN protocol all preferred)
