Job summary

Big Night Entertainment Group in Boston is seeking a part-time live events technician to support audio, lighting, and video for our venues. The role focuses on providing high-quality technical support during productions and events.

You will handle load-in/load-out, setup/breakdown, and assist touring crews, ensuring equipment is properly maintained and ready for shows while delivering excellent guest experiences. This position is ideal for hands-on professionals in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year experience in a similar role in high-volume live event production.
  • Experience with pro audio, lighting, and/or video systems.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must possess superior interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75lbs.
  • Able to work in environments with moderate to loud noise and extreme lighting changes.
  • Knowledge of digital mixing consoles and routing systems; Midas/Q-SYS experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of professional lighting control; Obsidian Onyx experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of professional video systems; Kramer routing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide audio reinforcement, lighting or video support for live events.
  • Assist production crews as directed.
  • Perform load-in and load-out of equipment and rentals as needed.
  • Set up and break down all production equipment for events.
  • Assist touring crews with gear and cables.
  • Maintain and repair sound, light, video, and stage equipment.
  • Work with visiting production crews to ensure successful shows.
  • Operate audio/lighting/video systems across the venue.
  • Cables and patching of microphones and DIs; assist with backline setup.
  • Support production manager and live sound engineer with technical advances as needed.
  • Assist with special events operations in various capacities.

Requirements

  • Non-typical office hours will be customary for this part-time position including evenings, weekends, and holidays
