Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is hiring a Design Engineer I, BESS to create preliminary designs and review others' work. The role supports BESS layouts, single-line diagrams, and AutoCAD drafting within a collaborative engineering team.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering with EIT or pursuing it, plus proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel, Word, Teams and Outlook. This position offers a hybrid work model with in-office presence in multiple U.S. locations or remote options.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
EIT certification or progressing towards it is required.
Proficient with AutoCAD, Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook.
Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles and calculations.
Familiarity with building codes, engineering practices and safety standards.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

Create preliminary BESS layouts and single line diagrams using templates.
Review bid drawings to internal standards and document differences.
Evaluate RFPs against standard designs and communicate unique specifications to necessary parties.
Collaborate with Business Development and Estimating to respond to RFPs.
Perform basic electrical engineering calculations to support design.
Create and modify electrical drawings using AutoCAD.
Research and stay current on NEC and NFPA 855 codes.
Participate in design reviews and collaborate with other engineering disciplines.
Prepare technical reports, calculations, and specifications and maintain revision history.
