Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Design Engineer I, BESS to create preliminary BESS designs and review designs by others. The role supports CAD drafting, code research, and cross‑disciplinary collaboration across hybrid/in-office or remote work arrangements.

The candidate should have an Electrical Engineering degree, an EIT or on track, and proficiency with AutoCAD, Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• EIT certification or on track to obtain it required.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook required.
• Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles and wire sizing.

Responsibilities

• Create preliminary BESS layouts and single line diagrams using templates.
• Review bid drawings for internal standards and document differences.
• Review RFPs and evaluate against our standard designs; communicate unique specifications.
• Work with Business Development and Estimating to respond to RFPs.
• Perform basic electrical engineering calculations to support design.
• Create and modify electrical drawings using AutoCAD.
• Research NEC and NFPA 855 and other codes.
• Participate in design reviews and collaborate with other engineering teams.
• Prepare technical reports and maintain design revision history.
