Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Design Engineer I, BESS to create preliminary BESS designs and review designs for accuracy. The role supports CAD drafting, electrical calculations, and regulatory research, with hybrid work options in the US.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to respond to RFPs and develop technically sound solutions. Applicants should have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, EIT or pursuing it, and proficiency with AutoCAD, Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• EIT certification or on track to obtain it.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
• Understanding of electrical engineering principles including wire sizing and current calculations.
• Knowledge of building codes, engineering principles, and industry best practices.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Commitment to safety
• Sense of urgency

Responsibilities

• Create preliminary BESS layouts and single-line diagrams using templates.
• Review bid drawings for compliance and document differences.
• Evaluate RFPs against standard designs and communicate specifications.
• Perform basic electrical calculations to support design.
• Create and modify electrical drawings using AutoCAD.
