Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Design Engineer I to create preliminary BESS designs and to review designs by others. The role may be hybrid with regular in-office presence in multiple locations or fully remote.

You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure design accuracy and compliance. The position emphasizes electrical engineering fundamentals, AutoCAD drafting, and collaboration with Business Development and Estimating to respond to RFPs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• EIT certification or on track to obtain it.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook.
• Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles, including wire sizing and current calculations.
• Familiarity with building codes and industry practices.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• BESS Design Support: create preliminary BESS layouts and single line diagrams using templates.
• CAD Drafting: create and modify electrical drawings with AutoCAD.
• Code and Regulatory Research: stay current on NEC and NFPA 855.
• Project Collaboration: participate in design reviews with other disciplines.
• Documentation and Reporting: assist in preparing technical reports and calculations.
