Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Design Engineer I, BESS to create preliminary BESS designs and review designs by others. The role supports hybrid in-office work across San Diego, CA; Edison, NJ; Bend, OR, or remote.

You will perform basic electrical calculations and collaborate with BD and Estimating to respond to RFPs. Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s in electrical engineering, are on track for EIT, and are proficient in AutoCAD, Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• EIT certification or on track to obtain it.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook
• Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles and wire sizing

Responsibilities

• BESS Design Support: Create preliminary BESS layouts and single line diagrams using templates.
• CAD Drafting: Create and modify electrical engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
• Code and Regulatory Research: Research NEC and NFPA 855 and stay current on codes.
• Project Collaboration: Participate in design reviews with other disciplines and project teams.
• Documentation & Reporting: Prepare technical reports, calculations and specifications.
