Job summary
SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Design Engineer I, BESS to create preliminary designs and review others’ work. The role offers hybrid work with in-office presence in San Diego, CA, Edison, NJ, Bend, OR or fully remote; location details will be discussed in interview.
Responsibilities include CAD drafting, regulatory research, design reviews, and documentation. Requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and EIT progress; proficient in AutoCAD, Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
Qualifications
- Electrical engineering degree from an accredited program.
- Candidate currently pursuing or holding EIT certification.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook.
- Fundamental electrical engineering concepts and calculations.
- Familiarity with building codes, standards and best practices.
- Attention to detail and accuracy; strong teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Create preliminary BESS layouts and single-line diagrams using templates.
- Draft and modify electrical drawings in AutoCAD.
- Research NEC and NFPA 855; stay current with codes.
- Participate in design reviews with engineering teams.
- Prepare technical reports, calculations, and maintain revision history.
