Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Design Engineer I, BESS to create preliminary BESS designs and review others’ work. The role supports hybrid work with in-office presence in San Diego, CA, Edison, NJ, Bend, OR or full remote options; location details will be discussed in interview.

Responsibilities include CAD drafting, code research (NEC/NFPA 855), RFP evaluation, and collaboration across engineering disciplines to deliver compliant designs and thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

Responsibilities

• Create preliminary BESS layouts and single line diagrams using templates
• Perform review of bid drawings to internal standards and document differences
• Review RFPs and evaluate against our standard designs; communicate unique specifications
• Collaborate with Business Development and Estimating on RFP responses
• Perform basic electrical engineering calculations to support design
• Create and modify electrical drawings using AutoCAD
• Research applicable electrical codes/standards including NEC and NFPA 855
• Participate in design reviews and collaborate with other engineering disciplines
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, and specifications; maintain design revision history
