SOLV Energy is seeking a Design Engineer I, BESS to create preliminary BESS designs and review designs created by others.

The role can be hybrid with regular in‑office presence in San Diego, CA, Edison, NJ, Bend, OR or fully remote. Responsibilities include BESS design support, CAD drafting with AutoCAD, code and regulatory research, project collaboration, and technical report preparation. Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• EIT certification or on track to obtain it.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
• Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles and codes.
• Strong attention to detail and teamwork.
• Commitment to safety and urgency.

Responsibilities

• BESS Design Support: Create preliminary BESS layouts and single line diagrams using templates.
• CAD Drafting: Create and modify electrical engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
• Code and Regulatory Research: Research NEC and NFPA 855 codes.
• Project Collaboration: Participate in design reviews with other disciplines.
• Documentation and Reporting: Prepare technical reports, calculations, and specifications.
