Job summary

Elica Health Centers is seeking a Behavioral Health Support Specialist to coordinate program activities, manage referrals and authorizations, and track care coordination across BH and specialty services. The role emphasizes accurate EHR documentation, timely communication with providers, and patient-centered service.

The position requires a degree in Behavioral Health and experience with healthcare referrals; Epic knowledge is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge of referral and authorization processes in a healthcare setting.
• Experience with EHR systems (Epic preferred).
• Understanding of insurance requirements including HMO, PPO, Medicare, Medi-Cal, and other programs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate BH program activities, operational workflows, staff trainings, and quality improvement projects.
• Manage end-to-end referral and prior authorization operations for Behavioral Health, Psychiatric, and specialty services.
• Audit referral requests for completeness and gather missing documentation; provide guidance on status and requirements.
• Input referral, authorization, and appointment details into the EHR; transmit documentation to specialists and health plans.
• Provide patient-centered service, listen with empathy, and collaborate with clinical teams and community partners.

Education

Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Behavioral Health related field
