Job summary

Motorola Solutions is seeking a Business Development Engineer for USSOCOM to bridge RF capabilities with customer requirements and emerging trends. You will support acquisition stakeholders, demonstrate interoperability of StreamCaster MANET radios, and travel up to 50% to field sites and labs.

You will work with Engineering and Business Development, shaping product roadmaps and field-testing environments, with remote work options depending on location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 2–5 years in systems engineering, technical business development or defense tech roles; OR HS diploma with 5+ years relevant experience.
• Exposure to Software-Defined Radios, IP routing protocols, or tactical communications systems.
• Familiarity with RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers and signal generators.
• Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or ability to obtain within 15 months.
• Must be a U.S. citizen due to government contracts.
• Background check and drug test clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze USSOCOM capability gaps and map operational needs to tactical radio solutions.
• Plan configurations and oversee live field trials, modernizations, and user evaluations.
• Collaborate to verify architectures are technically sound with benchmarking data.
• Coordinate with Business Development to align technical needs with strategy.
• Develop and present technical demonstrations tailored to low-signature, tactical edge needs.
• Contribute to RFI/RFP responses and work with partners on end-to-end network architectures.
• Engage with USSOCOM stakeholders and translate field feedback into product roadmap inputs.
• Travel up to 50% to customer sites and labs; remote work possible depending on location.
