Job summary

Eaton’s North American Sales division seeks an Area Sales Manager based in Pleasanton, CA, responsible for Bay Area and Santa Rosa electrical distribution solutions. Lead a sales team, guide distributors, and drive market share, profitability, and customer engagement for Eaton's product lines.

The role emphasizes managing a customer base, developing talent, and coordinating bids while ensuring high-quality service and strong relationships with clients and distributors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum seven (7) years electrical industry sales/marketing and/or engineering experience.
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license; no relocation assistance; reside within 75 miles of Pleasanton, CA.

Responsibilities

• Manage the assigned customer base to increase sales in the local marketplace.
• Provide application guidance and technical assistance to assigned customers.
• Develop and implement sales strategies to stress value-added upgrades while achieving maximum profit margin and customer satisfaction.
• Promote and maintain relationships with client representatives responsible for purchasing decisions.
• Interact with stakeholders to manage and negotiate sales and related issues.
• Coordinate and present bids and quotations using company guidelines to strengthen margins.
• Support order entry and quality communications to management; track opportunities and forecasting.
