Job summary

AAA Northeast is seeking a Battery Service Technician to support and promote the battery program and deliver world-class roadside service for members in Providence, RI. You will respond to service requests, diagnose battery issues, perform tests, provide jump starts, and replace batteries on-the-spot while maintaining safety and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High School GED required.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Post-secondary training in automotive mechanics and familiarity with electrical troubleshooting preferred.
• Active and valid driver's license.
• Able to obtain and maintain a minimum of one-year DOT card pre-hire and as a current employee.
• Satisfactory motor vehicle record check required.

Responsibilities

• Responds to member requests for service and dispatches ETA to destination.
• Assess safety of the scene on arrival and ensure vehicle is in a safe location.
• Greet members, address emotions, and provide reassurance and guidance as needed.
• Explain battery program details and recommend appropriate battery types.
• Report diagnostic results to the member and provide referrals as needed.
• Maintain service vehicle, tools, and inventory in good order and safety checks.
• Perform battery testing, maintenance, and on-the-spot battery installs.
• Assist with minor mechanical tasks and provide battery service where trained.
• Record van activity, invoicing, and inventory via laptop.
