Job summary

AAA Northeast is seeking a Battery Service Tech to support and promote the battery program, delivering safe, on-the-go roadside service for members and ensuring positive experiences in a Battery Service Vehicle.

You will respond to service requests, test batteries, install replacements, and assist with minor repairs while maintaining vehicles and inventory and meeting performance targets for member satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High School GED is required.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Post-secondary training in automotive mechanics and familiarity with electrical troubleshooting preferred.
• Active and valid driver’s license required.
• DOT card pre-hire and as current employee required.
• Satisfactorily pass a motor vehicle record check during pre-hire screening and periodically during employment.

Responsibilities

• Responds to member’s request for service and provides ETA.
• Locates members and assesses scene safety on arrival.
• Greets members and manages emotional state to ensure calm and confidence.
• Communicates clearly about the battery program and recommended battery type.
• Performs battery testing, maintenance, and on-the-spot replacement as needed.
• Maintains service vehicle and inventory; completes invoicing and reporting as required.
• If needed, coordinates towing and ensures safety of the member and vehicle.
