Job summary

AAA Northeast is seeking a Battery Service Tech to provide safe, world-class roadside battery services to members in Peabody, MA. The role includes testing and replacing batteries, performing diagnostic checks, and offering referrals to approved facilities while maintaining high service standards.

Qualifications

• GED required and 21+ years old.
• Post-secondary training in automotive mechanics preferred.
• Must obtain and maintain a DOT pre-hire card.
• M satisfactorily pass motor vehicle record checks during pre-hire and employment.

Responsibilities

• Respond to member requests for service within ETA.
• Dispatch calls and provide accurate ETA to members.
• Ensure scene safety upon arrival and protect the member and travelers.
• Greet members, manage emotions, and provide reassurance when needed.
• Communicate battery program details and recommend appropriate battery type.
• Explain diagnostics results and suggest further repairs or referrals.
• Maintain vehicle, tools, and inventory in good working order.
• Perform battery diagnostics and on-the-spot battery replacements when trained.
