Job summary

Panasonic Energy Corporation of North America seeks a Materials Engineering Intern to join our onsite Gigafactory for a 12-week program. The internship focuses on characterizing metal materials, performing failure analysis, and developing testing methods during battery production.

You will learn a broad range of manufacturing facets and gain industry-ready skills. The program runs for 12 weeks from May 17 to August 6, 2027, with a full-time paid schedule.

Qualifications

• Completion of at least two years of full-time enrollment in a relevant engineering degree
• GPA 3.2 or higher required
• Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited four-year college or university
• Ability to work full-time in the U.S. for the internship period

Responsibilities

• Characterize material properties of metals in battery manufacturing
• Conduct failure analysis using microscopy techniques
• Develop evaluation methods for metal components in cells
• Analyze data to reduce defects and improve battery performance
• Present findings to process engineering groups
• Complete reports summarizing project work
• Other duties as assigned
