Job summary

Panasonic Energy in Kansas invites engineering students to join its 12-week, full-time paid summer internship at the Gigafactory. You will learn battery cell manufacturing basics and work on high-speed, automated lines to support volume production.

As an intern, you will assist with process improvements, data analysis, and collaboration with production teams to resolve issues, while gaining hands-on experience in lithium-ion technology.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled as a fulltime student at an accredited four-year college or university.
• GPA of 3.2 or higher.
• Demonstrated experience solving difficult hands-on engineering problems with an ability to clearly articulate technical detail and thought process.

Responsibilities

• Conducts battery cell manufacturing process improvement for mass production lines.
• Conducts design and testing work for existing production lines to improve cell manufacturing process on safety, quality and productivity.
• Analyzes and evaluates machine and test data.
• Analyzes operating procedures and functions of equipment and machinery to reduce time and cost of manufacturing processes.
• Provides engineering support to production teams to resolve manufacturing process issues.
