Rivers Casino Des Plaines in Des Plaines, IL is seeking a Banquet Supervisor to oversee private events, coordinate service with the culinary team, and ensure guests receive outstanding hospitality.

This role requires supervising staff, maintaining safety standards, and adapting to high-paced event schedules, with opportunities to interact with guests and advance in food and beverage operations at a busy casino environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years of bartending experience in high-volume venues.
• Proficiency with POS systems and basic math.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Professional, groomed appearance and guest-focused attitude.
• Must complete Responsible Alcohol Service Training and enforce cut-off procedures.
• Able to pass pre-employment screenings and obtain required licensing.
• Flexible to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise banquet staff and ensure smooth event execution.
• Anticipate client needs to deliver exceptional service.
• Know event-specific menus and coordinate service timelines.
• Coordinate room setup, meal service and event breakdown.
• Lead pre-shift briefings reviewing timelines, menus and side-work.
• Enforce health, food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Ensure grooming standards and professional appearance.
• Assist with serving or bartending as needed.
• Liaise with culinary team to coordinate guest counts.
• Maintain safety awareness and a safe work environment.
• Perform other operational duties as assigned.
