Job summary

Rivers Casino Des Plaines is hiring a Beverage Shift Supervisor to oversee bartenders, bar porters and cocktail servers, ensuring duties are executed per policy and guests are served promptly and professionally.

You will lead the team to deliver superior service, train new staff, manage staffing levels, and maintain sanitation and regulatory compliance across river casino beverage outlets.

Qualifications

• Outstanding interpersonal communication to interface with guests, supervisors and team members.
• 3–5 years in hospitality, beverage operations, or gaming; 1+ year supervising.
• Certifications in ServSafe and Responsible Alcohol Training within 120 days.
• Knowledge of beer, wine and spirits and industry trends.
• Proficient with computers and MS Office.
• Able to convey safety data sheets to team members.
• Cooperative, helpful, friendly nature; able to fulfill pre-employment/licensing.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including holidays/weekends; able to walk/stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Supervise bartenders, bar porters, and cocktail servers during a shift.
• Ensure guests are served promptly, professionally, and courteously.
• Lead team and enforce policies; train and update staff on changes.
• Maintain communication between shifts and with other departments.
• Adjust staffing to meet beverage outlet needs and monitor business levels.
• Assist trainers with onboarding and support team members as needed.
• Communicate promotions, events, and services to the team.
• Maintain high sanitation standards and comply with health regulations.
• Ensure proper inventory of materials and products.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
