Rensselaer Banquet Facility is seeking a friendly Banquet Server to support our catering team. This part-time role requires weekend availability and the ability to work flexible day and evening shifts, delivering high standards of food and beverage service at all functions.

You will read BEOs, help with setup, greet guests, serve courses, clear tables, and assist the Banquet Captain to ensure timely service. Previous food service experience and strong customer service skills are valued.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing, and math skills are required.
• Experience in food service or banquet operations is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Read a BEO and complete setup accordingly.
• Assist Banquet Captain in buffet setup and special service as needed.
• Greet and serve guests in a prompt and courteous manner.
• Serve menu items and coordinate course timing with dining pace.
• Perform pre- and post-shift side work and setup/condiments.
• Clear tables and transport dirty dishes to the kitchen.
• Respond to guest inquiries and relay concerns to supervisor.
• Notify Captain before leaving the floor or banquet service area.

Reports directly to the Banquet Captain. Job requirements include basic reading, writing, and math skills; food service experience with general knowledge of banquet operations; knowledge of different table settings and styles of service; and good customer service and interpersonal communications skills. Physical requirements include walking and standing for the majority of each shift; carrying and lifting items (i.e.. plates, utensils, trays, tables) frequently.Job Duties Include, but not limited to:Be able to read a BEO and know how to complete a setup based on information contained therein.Assist captain in setting up buffet and other special food service as needed.Greet and serve guests.Serves menu items to guest in a prompt and courteous manner and according to the banquet event order; times the service of courses to correspond with the dining pace of the guest.Performs pre- and post-shift side work; set-up, condiments, etc.Clears tables after service. Removes trays of dirty dishes, silverware and glassware to kitchen for cleaning.Responds to guest inquiries and reports special requests promptly to ensure guest satisfaction; notifies supervisor of guest complaints or unusual situations.Always notify the Captain or Supervisor before leaving the floor or banquet service area.Set-up, land breakdown banquet bars, as assigned according to standard policies and procedures.
