Hoosick Banquet LLC in Troy, NY is seeking a part-time Banquet Server to deliver high-quality food and beverage service at events. This tipped role requires open weekend and holiday availability and a welcoming, guest-focused attitude.

Reports to Banquet Captain; responsibilities include reading BEOs, setting up buffets, greeting guests, serving courses on schedule, and maintaining clean service areas. Physical stamina, reading, writing, and math skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing and math skills required.
• Food service experience preferred with knowledge of banquet operations.
• Ability to read a BEO and set up according to it.
• Excellent guest service and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Read a BEO and complete setups based on it.
• Assist captain in buffet setup and other food service needs.
• Greet and serve guests in a prompt, courteous manner.
• Serve menu items according to banquet event order and dining pace.
• Perform pre- and post-shift side work and setup tasks.
• Clear tables and remove trays to kitchen for cleaning.
• Respond to guest inquiries and note special requests for supervisor.
• Notify Captain before leaving the floor or banquet area.
• Set up and breakdown banquet bars per policies.

Job Description

Banquet Server provides guests in the catering department with the highest standards of food and beverage service at all functions. Reports directly to the Banquet Captain. Job requirements include basic reading, writing, and math skills; food service experience with general knowledge of banquet operations; knowledge of different table settings and styles of service; and good customer service and interpersonal communications skills. Physical requirements include walking and standing for the majority of each shift; carrying and lifting items (i.e.. plates, utensils, trays, tables) frequently.

Job Duties Include, but not limited to

• Be able to read a BEO and know how to complete a setup based on information contained therein.
• Assist captain in setting up buffet and other special food service as needed.
• Greet and serve guests.
• Serves menu items to guest in a prompt and courteous manner and according to the banquet event order; times the service of courses to correspond with the dining pace of the guest.
• Performs pre- and post-shift side work; set-up, condiments, etc.
• Clears tables after service. Removes trays of dirty dishes, silverware and glassware to kitchen for cleaning.
• Responds to guest inquiries and reports special requests promptly to ensure guest satisfaction; notifies supervisor of guest complaints or unusual situations.
• Always notify the Captain or Supervisor before leaving the floor or banquet service area.
• Set-up, land breakdown banquet bars, as assigned according to standard policies and procedures.
