Job summary

First Mid Bank & Trust in Savoy, IL is seeking a friendly, detail‑oriented teller to provide accurate banking transactions and exceptional customer service. You will handle deposits, withdrawals, payments, and account maintenance with precision and courtesy.

Responsibilities include opening accounts, maintaining cash drawer discipline, and educating customers on online and mobile banking. A high school diploma and 1+ year cash handling experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of customer service and cash handling experience in a financial setting preferred.
• Completion of required compliance and First Mid training curriculum to be proficient in the basic account opening process.

Responsibilities

• Create a quality service experience by ensuring timely resolution to customer needs and overall customer satisfaction.
• Abides by company service standards, including greeting customers and making them feel welcome to First Mid Bank & Trust.
• Proficiently service customers by accepting and processing transactions with accuracy and efficiency within policy guidelines including deposits, withdrawals, payments, check cashing, issuing cashier's checks, and additional transactions upon request.
• Gain manager assistance with any suspicious transactions.
• Obtain management approval for transactions outside authorized limits.
• Adheres to all bank compliance, security and operational policies and procedures.
• Maintains a cash drawer by performing daily balancing procedures and assist with daily operational branch duties.
• Open accounts including but not limited to checking, savings, safe deposit box, basic business related, etc.
• Performs changes to existing accounts as requested by the customer.
• Develops and maintains relationships with business partners and customers.
• Educates and encourages customers to use alternate delivery systems such as ATM, Debit Card, Online, and Mobile Banking.
