Job summary

First Mid Bancshares, Inc. is seeking a customer-focused teller to deliver high-quality service at our Forsyth, IL branch. The role involves handling deposits, withdrawals, and routine banking transactions with accuracy and adherence to policy guidelines.

You will greet customers, open accounts, and support promotional initiatives while maintaining compliance and building lasting relationships with clients. Strong Excel/Office skills support daily operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of customer service and cash handling experience preferred.
• Experience in a financial institution is a plus.
• Must complete required compliance and First Mid training curriculum for account opening responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Create a quality service experience by ensuring timely resolution to customer needs and satisfaction.
• Greet customers and make them feel welcome to First Mid Bank & Trust.
• Process transactions accurately and efficiently within policy guidelines (deposits, withdrawals, payments, check cashing, cashier’s checks).
• Obtain manager approval for transactions outside authorized limits.
• Maintain cash drawer and balance daily; support branch operations.
• Open and modify accounts as requested; develop relationships with customers and business partners.
