Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking an Assistant Bakery Manager to lead Bakery Clerks and assist the Bakery Manager in daily department operations. You will focus on customer service, department merchandising, inventory controls, and ensuring safety and sanitation guidelines are followed.

The role requires at least 2 years of retail grocery and supervisory experience, flexibility for nights/weekends/holidays, and strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age with a minimum of two years' retail grocery experience and two years supervisory experience.
• Be dependable with the ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Have outgoing, friendly behavior, positive attitude, and ability to interact with customers.
• Have good communication skills and the ability to take and give direction in a team.
• Be able to answer phones and take special orders.
• Perform general housekeeping and sanitize the work area.
• Be able to operate knives, scales, wrappers, and handling equipment.
• Stand for long periods and handle lifting as described by safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Bakery Manager in overseeing department operations and leading Bakery Clerks.
• Manage department merchandising for productivity and profit.
• Oversee ordering, inventory controls, product quality, and team supervision.
• Rotate merchandise and build displays while monitoring deliveries.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, sanitation guidelines and food handling permits.
• Support a fast-paced environment with excellent customer service.
