Job summary

Maker’s Pride, LLC in Kentwood, MI is seeking a production supervisor to oversee mixing, baking, forming and packaging on assigned shifts, ensuring safe operations and quality products while optimizing labor and materials.

You will supervise a team, enforce GMP and SQF requirements, manage scheduling and payroll, review production data in SAP, and drive continuous improvement across the line.

Qualifications

• Two-year college degree in business preferred.
• 3–5 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment; Bakery/food a plus.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
• Proficient in Kronos timekeeping system and SAP a plus.
• Excellent communication, conflict management, decision-making, motivational and organizational skills.
• Strong self-confidence and leadership skills.
• Basic mechanical skills required.
• Ability to work designated shift schedule, including every other weekend.

Responsibilities

• Supervise assigned team and provide overall direction and evaluation.
• Interview, hire and train new employees; plan, assign and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints.
• Ensure GMP, SQF and OSHA/MiOSHA compliance and SAP processes.
• Direct conversion of raw materials to finished products with minimum waste and labor cost.
• Control raw material formula consistency.
• Monitor proper inventory rotation of raw materials and packaging.
• Maintain a 5S environment.
• Schedule, maintain and approve production employees’ work hours daily; resolve scheduling/payroll issues.
• Comply with customer service and Company standards.
• Review production orders/schedules for product data and delivery dates; plan operations.
• Plan production operations, establish priorities and sequences.
• Review reports and resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to minimize costs and delays; inspect machinery.
• Resolve employee complaints or escalate to ERM; handle disciplinary actions.
• Train, develop and evaluate all employees to meet future needs.
• Attend meetings; make presentations as needed.
• Follow GMPs; comply with safety, health and environmental regulations.
• Comply with Company rules, regulations and policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
