Job summary

Insomnia Cookies, LLC is seeking an Assistant Bakery Operations Manager to collaborate with the Bakery Operations Manager and build a strong, well-trained team. You will manage staffing, inventory, quality, cleanliness, and execution while stepping up to lead when needed.

You will coach and develop hourly staff, participate in recruiting and training, and create schedules that meet bakery and business needs. This role offers growth into senior bakery leadership.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of leadership experience in retail, restaurant, hospitality, or another customer-focused environment.
• Experience coaching, motivating, and developing hourly team members.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Hands-on leadership style and willingness to jump into any bakery role when needed.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences and building great teams.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to obtain required food safety certifications applicable to the location.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day bakery operations with the BOM to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
• Lead the bakery independently when the BOM is away, keeping the team focused.
• Coach, motivate, and develop Shift Leaders and Cookie Crew members through real-time feedback and support.
• Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training to build a fully staffed team.
• Help create schedules and manage labor to meet bakery needs and business demands.
• Support ordering, inventory management, product rotation, and shrink control.
• Maintain high standards for product quality, food safety, cleanliness, and speed of service.
• Complete operational and administrative tasks accurately and on time.
• Identify opportunities to improve bakery performance and implement solutions with leadership.
