Job summary

Insomnia Cookies is seeking an Assistant Bakery Operations Manager to work side-by-side with the Bakery Operations Manager. You’ll help build an energized, well-trained team, deliver great guest experiences, and keep the bakery running at its best.

You’ll coach Shift Leaders and Cookie Crew, assist with recruiting, onboarding and training, and manage schedules, labor, inventory, and product rotation. This role offers learning, growth, and a path to running a bakery of your own.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of leadership in retail, restaurant, hospitality, or another customer-focused environment.
• Experience coaching, motivating, and developing hourly team members.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Hands-on leadership style and willingness to jump into any bakery role when needed.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple operational priorities.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to obtain any required food safety certifications applicable to the location.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day bakery operations with BOM to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
• Lead the bakery independently when the BOM is away, keeping the team focused and operations running smoothly.
• Coach, motivate, and develop Shift Leaders and Cookie Crew members through real-time feedback, recognition, and support.
• Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training to build a strong, fully staffed team.
• Help create schedules and manage labor to meet the needs of the bakery and the business.
• Support ordering, inventory management, product rotation, and shrink control.
• Maintain high standards for product quality, food safety, cleanliness, speed of service, and overall bakery execution.
• Complete required operational and administrative tasks accurately and on time.
• Identify opportunities to improve bakery performance and partner with your BOM and Area leadership to put solutions into action.
• Help create a culture where team members know what’s expected, feel supported, and are accountable for delivering their best.
