Job summary

Insomnia Cookies is seeking an Assistant Bakery Operations Manager to partner with the Bakery Operations Manager and energize a busy bakery. You will coach Shift Leaders and Cookie Crew, manage staffing, inventory, quality, cleanliness, and execution.

You will lead when the BOM is away, own the details, and help recruit, train, and schedule a great team to ensure exceptional guest experiences. There is a clear path to running your own Insomnia bakery in the future.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of leadership experience in retail, restaurant, hospitality, or another customer‑focused environment.
• Experience coaching, motivating, and developing hourly team members.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
• A hands‑on leadership style and willingness to jump into any bakery role when needed.
• Must be 18 years of age or older and able to obtain food safety certifications.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day bakery operations with your BOM to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
• Lead the bakery independently when the BOM is away, keeping the team focused and operations running smoothly.
• Coach, motivate, and develop Shift Leaders and Cookie Crew members through real‑time feedback and support.
• Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training to build a strong, fully staffed team.
• Help create schedules and manage labor to meet the needs of the bakery and the business.
• Support ordering, inventory management, product rotation, and shrink control.
• Maintain high standards for product quality, food safety, cleanliness, speed of service, and bakery execution.
• Complete required operational and administrative tasks accurately and on time.
• Identify opportunities to improve bakery performance and partner with BOM and Area leadership to implement solutions.
