Insomnia Cookies in Wilmington, NC is seeking an Assistant Bakery Operations Manager to collaborate with the Bakery Operations Manager, build a strong team, and deliver an exceptional guest experience. You’ll lead staffing, inventory, quality, cleanliness, and execution, stepping up when the BOM isn’t present.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of leadership experience in retail, restaurant, hospitality, or another customer-focused environment.
• Experience coaching, motivating, and developing hourly team members.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Hands-on leadership style and willingness to jump into any bakery role when needed.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple operational priorities.
• Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences and building great teams.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to obtain food safety certifications applicable to the location.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day bakery operations and deliver an exceptional guest experience.
• Lead the bakery independently when the BOM is away, keeping the team focused and operations running smoothly.
• Coach, motivate, and develop Shift Leaders and Bakery Crew members through real-time feedback and support.
• Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training to build a strong, fully staffed team.
• Help create schedules and manage labor to meet bakery and business needs.
• Support ordering, inventory management, product rotation, and shrink control.
• Maintain high standards for product quality, food safety, cleanliness, speed of service, and overall bakery execution.
• Complete required operational and administrative tasks accurately and on time.
• Identify opportunities to improve bakery performance and partner with BOM and Area leadership to implement solutions.
