Job summary

Insomnia Cookies is seeking an Assistant Bakery Operations Manager to lead daily bakery operations and deliver a memorable guest experience. You will partner with the Bakery Operations Manager to coach shifts, manage staffing, and uphold quality and safety standards.

You will play a hands-on role during peak hours, support recruiting and training, and help drive labor planning and inventory control to keep the bakery performing at its best.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of leadership experience in retail, restaurant, hospitality, or another customer-focused environment.
• Experience coaching, motivating, and developing hourly team members.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Hands-on leadership style and willingness to jump into any bakery role when needed.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple operational priorities.
• Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences and building great teams.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to obtain any required food safety certifications applicable to the location.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day bakery operations and deliver an exceptional guest experience.
• Lead the bakery independently when BOM is away, keeping the team focused.
• Coach, motivate, and develop Shift Leaders and Cookie Crew members through real-time feedback.
• Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training to build a strong, fully staffed team.
• Help create schedules and manage labor to meet bakery needs.
• Support ordering, inventory management, product rotation, and shrink control.
• Maintain high standards for product quality, food safety, cleanliness, and speed of service.
• Complete required operational and administrative tasks accurately and on time.
• Identify opportunities to improve bakery performance and implement solutions.
• Help create a culture of accountability and ownership.
• Jump in wherever needed—from serving guests and baking cookies to busy hours.
