Job summary

Insomnia Cookies is seeking an Assistant Bakery Operations Manager to join our fast-paced bakery team in West Hollywood, CA. You will work alongside the Bakery Operations Manager to build a energized, well-trained staff, deliver exceptional guest experiences, and keep operations running smoothly.

You’ll coach shifts, assist with recruiting and onboarding, and own scheduling, inventory, and quality standards while developing the leadership skills to potentially run your own Insomnia bakery one

Qualifications

• 1+ year of leadership experience in retail, restaurant, hospitality, or another customer-focused environment.
• Experience coaching, motivating, and developing hourly team members.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• A hands‑on leadership style and willingness to jump into any bakery role when needed.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple operational priorities.
• Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences and building great teams.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to obtain any required food safety certifications applicable to the location.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day bakery operations with BOM to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
• Lead the bakery independently when the BOM is away, keeping the team focused and operations running smoothly.
• Coach, motivate, and develop Shift Leaders and Cookie Crew members through real-time feedback, recognition, and support.
• Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training to build a strong, fully staffed team.
• Help create schedules and manage labor to meet the needs of the bakery and the business.
• Support ordering, inventory management, product rotation, and shrink control.
• Maintain high standards for product quality, food safety, cleanliness, speed of service, and overall bakery execution.
• Complete required operational and administrative tasks accurately and on time.
• Identify opportunities to improve bakery performance and partner with your BOM and Area leadership to put solutions into action.
• Help create a culture where team members know what’s expected, feel supported, and are accountable for delivering their best.
• Jump in wherever needed—from serving guests and baking cookies to supporting the team during our busiest hours.
