Job summary

Insomnia Cookies is seeking an Assistant Bakery Operations Manager to join our bakery leadership team in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with the Bakery Operations Manager to build an energized, well-trained team and deliver outstanding guest experiences.

You will coach, mentor, and develop hourly staff, handle staffing and inventory, ensure food safety, cleanliness, and timely execution, and step up to lead when the BOM is away.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of leadership experience in retail, restaurant, hospitality, or another customer-focused environment.
• Experience coaching, motivating, and developing hourly team members.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Hands-on leadership style and willingness to jump into any bakery role when needed.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple operational priorities.
• Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences and building great teams.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to obtain any required food safety certifications applicable to the location.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day bakery operations with BOM to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
• Lead the bakery independently when the BOM is away.
• Coach, motivate, and develop Shift Leaders and Cookie Crew members.
• Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training.
• Help create schedules and manage labor.
• Support ordering, inventory management, and shrink control.
• Maintain high standards for product quality, food safety, cleanliness, speed of service.
• Complete required operational and administrative tasks accurately and on time.
• Identify opportunities to improve bakery performance with Area leadership.
• Help create a culture where team members feel supported and accountable.
• Jump in wherever needed—from serving guests to baking cookies during peak hours.
