Job summary

Insomnia Cookies is seeking an Assistant Bakery Operations Manager to partner with the Bakery Operations Manager and lead a high-energy team, ensuring guest delight and a smoothly running bakery from staffing and inventory to quality and cleanliness.

You’ll coach shift leaders and crew, contribute to recruiting and training, manage schedules and labor, and step up for leadership during busy hours. This role is designed to develop you toward running an Insomnia bakery of your own.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of leadership experience in retail, restaurant, hospitality, or another customer-focused environment.
• Experience coaching, motivating, and developing hourly team members.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• A hands-on leadership style and willingness to jump into any bakery role when needed.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple operational priorities.
• Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences and building great teams.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Partner with your BOM to lead day-to-day bakery operations and deliver an exceptional guest experience.
• Lead the bakery independently when the BOM is away, keeping the team focused and operations running smoothly.
• Coach, motivate, and develop Shift Leaders and Cookie Crew members through real-time feedback, recognition, and support.
• Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training to build a strong, fully staffed team.
• Help create schedules and manage labor to meet the needs of the bakery and the business.
• Support ordering, inventory management, product rotation, and shrink control.
• Maintain high standards for product quality, food safety, cleanliness, speed of service, and overall bakery execution.
• Complete required operational and administrative tasks accurately and on time.
• Identify opportunities to improve bakery performance and partner with your BOM and Area leadership to put solutions into action.
• Help create a culture where team members know what’s expected, feel supported, and are accountable for delivering their best.
• Jump in wherever needed—from serving guests and baking cookies to supporting the team during our busiest hours.
