Insomnia Cookies in New York, NY is seeking an Assistant Bakery Operations Manager to partner with the Bakery Operations Manager in building a top-performing team and delivering exceptional guest experiences. You will coach shifts, manage staffing, inventory, quality, cleanliness, and execution, and step into leadership when needed to keep the bakery running smoothly.

This role offers a path to running your own Insomnia bakery someday, with hands-on leadership, ongoing development, and exposure

Qualifications

• 1+ year of leadership experience in retail, restaurant, hospitality, or another customer-focused environment.
• Experience coaching, motivating, and developing hourly team members.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Hands-on leadership style and willingness to jump into any bakery role.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple operational priorities.
• Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences and building great teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day bakery operations and deliver an exceptional guest experience.
• Lead the bakery independently when the BOM is away and keep the team focused.
• Coach and develop Shift Leaders and Crew members with real-time feedback and support.
• Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training to build a fully staffed team.
• Help create schedules and manage labor to meet bakery needs.
• Support inventory, product rotation, and shrink control.
• Maintain high standards for quality, food safety, cleanliness, and speed of service.
