Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking a Bakery Manager to lead the Bakery Department, overseeing daily bakery production, quality, display and inventory. The role emphasizes safety, sanitation, budgeting, and coaching a team to deliver superior customer service in a fast-paced store environment.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years in retail grocery, strong communication, and the ability to manage schedules, promotions, and staffing with collaboration to the Store Manager.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old with 2+ years of retail grocery experience.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Outgoing and friendly with a positive attitude toward team members and customers.
• Strong communication skills and ability to take direction in a team.
• Able to answer phones and take special orders.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the department.
• Operate knives, scales, wrappers, and related equipment; weight and label products.
• Stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs; food safety/permitted handling required.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily output baking, production, and display of bakery products.
• Supervise product quality, monitor inventory, and manage the bakery budget.
• Evaluate department operations and implement improved practices.
• Ensure safety, sanitation, and Weights & Measures compliance.
• Order, receive, unload, and store merchandise appropriately.
• Rotate merchandise and build displays.
• Manage inventory, pricing, labor, and other processes to Sprouts standards.
• Plan and order to maximize sales and gross profit.
• Lead and coach team members; conduct bi-annual performance reviews.
• Attend in-store meetings and participate actively.
• Recruit, hire, and promote in collaboration with the Store Manager.
• Address team concerns; take corrective actions including progressive discipline when needed.
• Create schedules to maximize productivity; adjust staffing as needed.
• Communicate standards and product knowledge to staff.
• Lead a team to deliver high-quality products and top service.
• Serve as Key Carrier or Manager on Duty as needed.
