Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking a Bakery Manager to lead the Bakery Department, oversee daily baking output, quality, inventory, and budgets. You will recruit, coach, and develop team members, ensure safety and sanitation, and plan ordering to maximize sales and gross profit.

A strong customer-service focus and experience in retail grocery are essential. You will also manage merchandising, staff scheduling, and occasional MOD duties while collaborating with store leadership to uphold Sprouts

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age with a minimum of 2 years' retail grocery experience.
• Flexible schedule including night, weekends, and holidays.
• Outgoing and friendly behavior with Team Members and customers.
• Good communication and ability to take direction in a team environment.
• Ability to answer phones and take special orders.
• Perform general housekeeping and sanitation in the department.
• Operate knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
• Stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs with/without assistance.
• Adhere to safety, health, Weights & Measures regulations, and food handler permits.
• Have working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales, and financial goals.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily output baking, production, and display of bakery products.
• Supervise and monitor product quality and consistency, track inventory, and manage the bakery's budget.
• Evaluate department conditions and operations; develop improved practices and procedures.
• Ensure safety, proper food handling, sanitation, and productivity standards.
• Responsible for correct ordering, receiving, unloading, and storage.
• Execute rotation of merchandise and building of displays.
• Manage department inventory, in-stocks, pricing integrity, merchandising, labor, and other operational processes.
• Plan and order according to company standards to maximize sales and gross profit.
• Engage and coach team members; conduct bi-annual performance reviews.
• Attend in-store meetings; recruit, hire and promote with Store Manager.
• Address team concerns and take corrective actions with HR as needed.
• Create schedules and staffing levels to ensure productivity.
• Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge.
• Lead a team to deliver quality product and service; act as MOD as needed.
