Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market in Downey, CA is hiring a Bakery Clerk to prepare and package baked goods and support the Bakery Manager. You’ll deliver friendly, high-level customer service in a fast-paced environment while maintaining cleanliness and proper presentation of all bakery items.

The role requires 18+, a HS diploma or equivalent, and 1–2 years bakery experience. You’ll work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, and you’ll handle equipment safely.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with a High school diploma or equivalent; with 1–2 years Bakery experience; or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Be dependable with flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Outgoing and friendly demeanor with the ability to interact with customers.
• Good communication skills and teamwork.
• Ability to answer phones and take special orders.
• Perform general housekeeping and sanitize work area.
• Operate knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, and other bakery equipment.
• Stand for up to 3 hours continuously; able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations; maintain Food Handlers permit.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, bake, package, price, and merchandise all baked goods.
• Provide high level customer service and ensure items are properly prepared and presented; keep bakery area clean.
• Maintain clean and sanitary bakery area and equipment; sweep and sanitize surfaces.
• Stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy; rotate products and discard spoiled items.
• Receive, inspect, and log products for shipment accuracy, temperature, and quality.
