Job summary

Speechify is seeking a backend-focused engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable APIs across public and internal platforms. You will influence product decisions and drive architecture that delivers compelling user experiences in a fast-paced, fully distributed environment.

The role emphasizes strategic thinking, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and building highly available services on cloud platforms, with emphasis on autonomy and rapid results.

Qualifications

• Proven backend development experience: TS/Node (required).
• Direct experience with GCP and knowledge of AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers.
• Efficient ideation and implementation, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and impact.
• Preferred: Docker and containerized deployments.
• Preferred: Proficiency in deploying high availability applications on Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including public TTS API, internal APIs like Payment, Subscription, Auth and Consumption Tracking, ensuring they meet business and scalability requirements
• Oversee the full backend API landscape, enhancing and optimizing for performance and maintainability
• Collaborate on B2B solutions, focusing on customization and integration needs for enterprise clients
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with overall product strategy and user experience
