Job summary

Speechify, a distributed-by-default tech company, seeks a backend Platform Engineer to design and maintain scalable APIs for public and internal use. You will lead API design with a focus on reliability and performance, enabling enterprise-grade integrations and analytics across our text-to-speech platforms.

The role emphasizes strategic thinking, fast-paced execution, and delivering high-quality user experiences.

Qualifications

• Proven backend development experience using TypeScript/Node.js.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform and knowledge of AWS/Azure.
• Familiar with containerized deployments using Docker and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including public TTS API and internal services such as Payment, Subscription, Auth and Analytics.
• Oversee the full backend API landscape, optimizing for performance and maintainability.
• Collaborate on B2B solutions, focusing on customization and integration for enterprise clients.
• Work with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with product strategy and user experience.
