Job summary

Speechify is seeking a backend engineer to design, build, and maintain robust APIs powering its text-to-speech products. This role focuses on scalable public and internal APIs (Payment, Subscription, Auth, and analytics) and demands strong TS/Node expertise within a fully distributed environment.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, influence API strategy, and deliver high-quality experiences for millions of users across the globe.

Qualifications

• Proven backend development experience with TS/Node.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform and knowledge of AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers.
• Ability to ideate and implement tasks with urgency and impact.
• Preferred: Docker experience.
• Preferred: Kubernetes deployment experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including public TTS API, internal APIs like Payment, Subscription, Auth and Consumption Tracking, ensuring they meet business and scalability requirements.
• Oversee the full backend API landscape, enhancing and optimizing for performance and maintainability.
• Collaborate on B2B solutions, focusing on customization and integration needs for enterprise clients.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with overall product strategy and user experience.
