Job summary

Speechify is seeking a backend-focused engineer to design, develop, and maintain robust API services in a fast-paced, fully remote team. You will own Payment, Subscription, Auth, and analytics APIs, shaping scalable backend architecture to power text-to-speech products used worldwide.

Ideal candidates bring strong TS/Node experience, cloud platform expertise (GCP/AWS/Azure), and a bias for reliable, high-availability systems.

Qualifications

• Proven backend development experience with TS/Node.
• Direct experience with Google Cloud Platform and knowledge of AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers.
• Efficiency in ideation and implementation, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and impact.
• Preferred: Docker experience.
• Preferred: Kubernetes experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including public TTS API, internal APIs like Payment, Subscription, Auth and Consumption Tracking, ensuring they meet business and scalability requirements
• Oversee the full backend API landscape, enhancing and optimizing for performance and maintainability
• Collaborate on B2B solutions, focusing on customization and integration needs for enterprise clients
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with overall product strategy and user experience
