Job summary

Reworld is seeking a Back Plant Operator in Massachusetts to safely operate the back ash area and related equipment within our industrial disposal process. You will monitor conveyors, perform routine maintenance, and support shutdowns with the maintenance team to ensure reliable facility performance.

The role requires a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and hands-on experience operating heavy industrial equipment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• Experience operating heavy industrial equipment.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and support maintenance on conveyors, belts, rollers, and related systems.
• Experience as a Maintenance Mechanic (MM) or Equipment Operator (EO) is a strong plus.
• Ability to work a rotating shift schedule.
• Strong commitment to safety, communication, and teamwork.
• Must possess or be able to quickly obtain MA 1C/2C Hoisting License (refer to state MA for license requirements).

Responsibilities

• Perform daily walkdowns of the back ash area, inspecting conveyors, belts, rollers, separators, and related equipment for defects or abnormal conditions.
• Monitor equipment performance, including speeds, alignment, ash buildup, and overall system cleanliness.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance and assist with corrective maintenance tasks throughout the day.
• Participate in the daily morning kickoff meeting (20-30 minutes) with the maintenance team to review the day's work plan.
• Support scheduled system shutdowns to complete repairs safely and efficiently.
• Operate industrial equipment, including front-end loaders (experience preferred).
• Utilize weekly activity books and critical items checklists to complete inspections and document equipment status.
• Safely perform lock-out/tag-out procedures in support of maintenance activities.
• Report equipment issues and submit repair requests using established work order processes.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment in the back ash area.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure safe and efficient facility operations.
