Job summary

Reworld Waste is seeking a Back Plant Operator to oversee the back ash area and related equipment. You will monitor conveyors, perform preventive maintenance, and support daily operations to ensure safe, efficient performance.

The role requires experience with heavy industrial equipment, a safety-first mindset, and flexibility to work rotating shifts. Valid driver’s license and MA Hoisting license eligibility are preferred. Competitive base pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Experience operating heavy industrial equipment.
• Mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting conveyors and related systems.
• Experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or Equipment Operator is a strong plus.
• Ability to work a rotating shift schedule.
• MA 1C/2C Hoisting License required or able to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily walkdowns of the back ash area, inspecting conveyors, belts, rollers, separators, and related equipment for defects or abnormal conditions.
• Monitor equipment performance, speeds, alignment, ash buildup, and overall system cleanliness.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance and assist with corrective maintenance tasks throughout the day.
• Participate in the daily morning kickoff meeting (20–30 minutes) with the maintenance team to review the day’s work plan.
• Support scheduled system shutdowns to complete repairs safely and efficiently.
• Operate industrial equipment, including front-end loaders (experience preferred).
• Utilize weekly activity books and critical items checklists to complete inspections and document equipment status.
• Safely perform lock-out/tag-out procedures in support of maintenance activities.
• Report equipment issues and submit repair requests using established work order processes.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment in the back ash area.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure safe and efficient facility operations.
